Oh, hey!
I’m Emily, the person behind the camera. I am so grateful you’re here and considering Captured Austin.
Let's see, I'm an Austinite of almost two decades, west Texas native, Texas Longhorn, single mom of two humans and one semi-human dog, introvert, coffee-obsessed lake rat. My photography journey began in high school on the yearbook committee, but I didn't get serious about it until my younger child was about two. I discovered that sometimes you can take a photo of someone and see their soul. That's my baby in the bathtub, and this remains one of my favorite photos I've ever taken because when I look at it, I can see HER. Creating these images is my passion; for a parent, these are absolutely priceless.
I am, of course, OBSESSED with newborns and kids. This would be a poor career choice for me otherwise! But even more, I am in love with parents. I want to see you, right where you are- whether you’ve just brought home your first baby and you’re tired, in awe, and terrified, or whether your kids are all big and they’ve been through a million things I will never know and you’re tired, in awe, and terrified. The whole journey is beautiful to me.
I am passionate about empowering women, especially in parenthood and small business. I believe there is room for everyone, and abundance for us all. While I largely photograph families, I also love to help people further their brands and careers with headshots and brand photos.

I know that every family is different. Every family has their own joys, and their own struggles. There is beauty to be found in every stage. My goal is to create a judgment-free, safe and fun environment so that you know that when you get in front of my camera, the beauty of your family will shine through.
